What is a Scare Attraction?

Like any growing industry, the business of scaring people currently uses a number of different terms which the newcomer may be unaware of. Many of these terms are used interchangeably but Scare Attractions, Haunted Attraction, or Haunted Maze generally all relate to the one basic form of entertainment – a walkthrough horror based attraction that has been designed to deliberately scare the guests as they pass from scene to scene.

These attractions are not necessarily historical ghost tours, but may rely on historical facts or fictional situations alongside a combination of design effects and actors to tell a detailed story and scare guests passing through.

Scare Attractions can be built just about anywhere and are only limited by the imagination of their designers. Over recent years, scare attractions have operated in caves, stately homes, corn fields, theme parks, shopping malls and farms.

If you are unsure as to what a scare attraction is then come along to ScareCON and see for yourself. If you have any other questions, contact us at info@scarecon.co.uk
