About ScareCON


ScareCON was created in 2008, when the UK Scare Attraction industry was going through a period of exceptional growth. Realising that everyone in the industry would benefit from co-operation and support from others, the event pulled together suppliers, manufacturers, production teams and owners.

The first event was organised as a small afternoon session for about 40 people but very soon, we were looking for a new venue and eventually had to turn people down due to lack of seats. By 2009 we had an even bigger turn out and we expanded across more rooms at the NEC and added new features such as a dedicated sales floor area and the Screamie awards ceremony.

2010 saw our highest attended event yet and was held at the amazing Magic Circle Headquarters in London. Delegates were able to attend workshops and seminars on diverse topics such as customer service, character and improvisation, and the use of technology in the industry

The main organiser behind ScareCON is Michael Bolton, who has had an interest in the Scare Attractions industry for over 13 years and has experienced hundreds of different attractions around the world. He has also worked in a number of attractions across the UK as well as being instrumental in the design, build and operation of several others, including the ScareZONE promotional event as part of leisure Industry Week at the NEC.

We are already working on the 2011 event and can guarantee another great line up of sales opportunities, exclusive deals, informative seminars and a chance to let your hair down with like minded individuals
